I bought my Dealer’s first 2016 Slingshot in late September of 2015. I opted for the base model as logic told me I could get a nice Windshield and Stereo installed for less than the $3200 Dealer’s upgrade. By mid-November, and living in the Midwest, I was regretting my decision. The only time I’ve been colder, was renting some old led-sled Deere snowmobiles in the 70’s without proper clothing…thought I was going to die! I needed a windshield and quick!
After doing some research, the main complaint about the Slingshot with windshields was excess heat in the cockpit. Well, I was not going to spend $500+ to not die in the winter only to melt in the summer! A new design was in order and it HAD to Adjust. Stroke of genius over my long Thanksgiving Holiday weekend and my prototype was mounted. A fluke 49 degree day and a thorough test drive at highway speed and the Spin 4 Air Windshield was born.
